Radisson Hotel Vancouver Airport, 8181 Cambie Rd, Richmond, BC V6X 3X9

Welcome to the 2023 BC Society of Transition Houses Annual Training Forum speaker application!

Note: applications are due July 14, 2023, and workshops will be 90 minutes in length. When you get to the profile page, you will be requested to upload your headshot photo and bio. Don't worry, if you don't have it handy, we can take care of that piece later.

The BCSTH Annual Training Forum is host to over 300 anti-violence workers who support women, youth and children in a variety of capacities, including Transition, Second and Third Stage Houses, Safe Homes, as well as Prevention, Education, Advocacy, Counselling and Empowerment (PEACE) and Violence is Preventable (VIP) programs, as support workers, counsellors, program managers and executive directors.

In a continuation of our ongoing theme of Strength in Solidarity, this year’s Annual Training Forum title is Celebrating our Successes – 45 Years & Counting! Please join the BCSTH community as we gather to celebrate the 45th Anniversary of the Society and to learn, share and celebrate the storied accomplishments of our dynamic sector as we focus on meeting the daily complex needs of women, children and youth fleeing violence and at risk of violence across BC and Canada. We stand on the shoulders of giants and know that the success and sustainability of our work depends on looking back to look forward to address the complexity of BC’s affordable housing crisis, increase in Femicides, Intimate Partner Violence and Family Violence, a substance use and mental health crisis and a crippling lack of access to justice. We hope to learn together and find inspiration from our shared history to re-invigorate and innovate our anti-violence support programs to meet these complex intersectional needs and to cultivate our ongoing solidarity and resilience in a shared journey to end violence against all women, children, and youth.
