Call for Proposals
2023 District 3 & 5 Conference
October 4, 2023 - October 6, 2023
St. Louis, Missouri
With the joint District 3 and District 5 Conference, we are truly supporting this fall’s theme of “Meet Me in St Louis” as we learn from industry experts, special speakers, and each other. Given this expanded format with both districts, we will be running two sessions at a time instead of only having one session. This will allow us to deliver even more programming to our NCMPR members.
The deadline for submitting proposals has been extended to August 4.
SELECTION PROCESS AND CRITERIA
NCMPR District 3 & District 5 seeks presentations that are engaging, creative, fun, useful and informative. The District 3 & District 5 Executive Councils will review and select programs that demonstrate the greatest potential for contributing to the quality of the conference. We’re looking for presentations that represent the various roles of the profession and are dedicated to the development of a program that is of interest to advanced-, middle- and entry-level professionals.
All submissions will be judged on the following criteria:
• Overall quality.
• Relevance to profession.
• Timeliness of topic.
• Audience appeal.
• Well-defined focus of presentation.
• Application of the material.
• Professional background and speaking experience of presenter(s).
We expect presenters to share knowledge, research and experiences. Sessions are NOT an opportunity to promote specific products or services. Conference organizers reserve the right to edit session titles and descriptions for conference promotional materials and suggest alternative formats or joint presentations as appropriate.
GENERAL GUIDELINES
- Proposal submissions are open to NCMPR members. Vendors may also submit a proposal and will be required to be a conference exhibitor or sponsor. Priority may be given to vendors who are presenting in partnership with an NCMPR member college.
- The 2023 District 3 & 5 Conference will take place in St. Charles, Missouri, and all presenters are expected to be on-site for the conference. By submitting a proposal, presenters also understand that they may be required to record a version of their presentation for use on NCMPR’s digital platforms. Presenters are encouraged to provide digital handouts for all participants to be shared via the conference app.
- Presenters are expected to pay all expenses to the conference. Proposal submission is considered a commitment to attend the 2023 District 3 & 5 conference and further indicates that you have the permission and support of your college CEO. Those who submit proposals that are accepted for presentation will be notified in July.
- NCMPR will provide internet access and basic audiovisual equipment to support presentations, including microphones and LCD projectors. Other special equipment may be arranged at the presenters’ expense. Presenters are responsible for furnishing their own laptop computers and software if required for the presentation.
- It is highly recommended that all pre-recorded presentations and any presentation that includes videos include closed captioning. Including this feature will make for a more accessible video experience for members.
- NCMPR welcomes members of all backgrounds, ethnicities, nationalities, religions, gender identities and sexual orientations. We take a resolute approach in our response to any display of insensitivity to diversity and inclusion through words, images or actions. We seek to foster an organization that is universally welcoming, respectful, educational and professional. Presenters and conference presentations are expected to be inclusive and respectful in all areas, including but not limited to terminology and imagery.
