SUBMISSION DETAILS
The goal of the Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (OPC) National Conference is to present current scientific research, clinical and technical advancements, and professional expertise in all areas related to orthotics and prosthetics.

Notice of Acceptance: Friday, April 26, 2024
Final Presentation to be sent to OPC: Monday, July 8, 2024
ELIGIBILITY
Submission is open to OPC members and non-members.
ABSTRACT SYSTEM To submit, you must log in to the Abstract system. This is NOT part of the OPC database, therefore first-time submitters must create an account. Abstracts can be submitted as a Free Paper, Workshop, Poster, or Tech Tip.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION PROCESS With the exception of Poster Presentations, submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment by the Author(s) to attend the conference and present their abstract(s). All presenting Authors must register for the conference and are responsible for the cost of their own conference fees. A maximum of three abstracts can be submitted per Author. Once created, modifications can be made until the submission deadline.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Submissions must not exceed 350 words and may be cut and pasted from existing self-authored documents. If appropriate, the abstract should include background, objectives, methods, results, and discussion. If it is not appropriate to do so, the abstract must include a brief overview of the content, including learning objectives. If either of these criteria are not met, the abstract will not be accepted. Multiple media files and/or other accompanying documents (in any format) can be uploaded in support of the submission. Referencing can be done in any standard format. Abstracts will only be accepted in English.
All abstracts will be blind peer-reviewed by the OPC Conference Committee which will accept or reject the submission. Please do not include any identifying information in your abstract.
TYPES OF SUBMISSIONS
Free Paper
- A lecture style presentation on a range of topics. This can include but is not limited to a case study, case series, summary of evidence, a research findings, or innovative practices.
- Presentations are either 10 or 25 minutes in length plus 5 minutes of Q&A after the presentation.
- You must register for and attend the conference
Workshop
- An interactive session with the purpose of teaching practical skills or techniques.
- Sessions are 60 or 90 minutes, please indicate which you prefer.
- Please note that if the underlying intent of the workshop is to sell a product, you must submit as a manufacturers workshop. Please see note below.
- You must register for and attend the conference.
Poster
- Provides an opportunity to showcase a research project.
- There will be an opportunity to present your poster but its content should also stand-alone.
- You may submit a poster without registering for or attending the conference.
Tech Tip
- A pre-recorded short video highlighting a solution to a common technical problem or a solution to a unique challenge followed by a live Q&A if possible
- You may submit a Tech Tip without registering or attending the conference.
