What to expect
The conference will run October 25 - 27, 2021 and will be held virtually. It will consist of plenary sessions and concurrent sessions that will be a combination of invited speakers and presentations selected from submitted abstracts and poster presentations. The conference will also include some panel discussions with key leaders in cancer research. On October 27, the conference will transition to include the Gairdner Science Week event that will run from 10:30 a.m. MT -1:30 p.m. MT. 


Who should attend
The conference will cover all pillars of cancer research including basic biomedical, clinical, health services and population health research. It will be open to any cancer researchers, clinicians, trainees and staff who are interested in attending to learn more about Alberta cancer research.


Aims and objectives
The overall aim of the Alberta Cancer Research Conference for 2021 is to increase awareness and knowledge of the research activities within Alberta.

This program is a co-development with the Department of Oncology, University of Calgary; Arnie Charbonneau Cancer Research Institute, University of Calgary; Cross Cancer Institute, University of Alberta. This program has received an educational grant from Amgen, Astellas, AstraZeneca, Bayer, Bristol-Myers-Squibb, Gilead, Hoffman-La Roche, Ipsen, Janssen, Lilly Oncology, Merck, Pfizer. This group learning activity is in compliance with the National Standard for Support of Accredited CPD Activities.
