Call for Proposals
Keeping Our Faculty Symposium
March 3, 2022 - March 4, 2022
Virtual Event
The 2022 Keeping Our Faculty of Color Symposium (March 3-4, 2022) is now accepting proposals for presentations.
This virtual meeting will address one of the most critical challenges facing higher education – the recruitment, development, and retention of faculty of color and Indigenous faculty. Keeping Our Faculty (KOF) is one of the first national meetings focused on advancing faculty diversity in higher education.
The symposium will feature a keynote presentation and conversation with Pulitzer Prize-winner Isabel Wilkerson author of The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America's Great Migration and Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents. It will also feature a Presidents’ Panel, networking events, and additional acclaimed keynote speakers.
Submission Instructions:
Authors must submit an electronic copy of their 2 page proposal. See the KOF submission template for formatting guidelines.
Proposals should include:
1. The overall focus of the presentation/poster/panel
2. The major issues to be addressed
3. Significance of the contributions
4. Brief descriptions of the presentation
5. For Panels - How the collective presentations/voices contribute toward the major issues
We encourage panel submissions representing multiple institutions and/or disciplines. The number of panel presentation sessions is limited.
We are accepting proposals on or before January 24, 2022. The author will then be notified of the acceptance of their presentations by February 7, 2022. Accepted abstracts will be made available on the event website and in the KOF Symposium Program.
We hope to see you on March 2022!
