CARA seeks speakers with innovative solutions and great stories to reflect on this year's CARA West Regional Conference theme.

2022 CARA West Regional Conference Theme: Research For Good!

CARA aims to provide a program balancing the wide variety of learning needs for our target audience in the Central community of Research Administration. We welcome proposals for sessions that will help our community intelligently assess their challenges and constraints and take practical steps toward effective solutions. We are also open to submissions presenting solutions and strategies from other sectors that would be equally innovative and of interest to Research Administrators.

CARA invites informed subject experts to present at the CARA regional conference on topics such as, but certainly not limited to: research grants and contracts; research finance; research ethics; wellness; colleges; EDI; Indigenous; mental health, or any other areas relevant to research administration. Sessions will run 45 minutes in length or 2 hours for workshops.  Subject experts are also invited to host conversation streams and/or roundtable discussions.

Due to the unfortunate circumstances caused by hurricane Fiona in the maritime regions, the committees have decided to extend the call for abstracts for the regional conferences for ONE WEEK ONLY until Friday, October 7, 2022, at 11:59 PM PST.

While you complete your application, you will be asked to upload a photo of yourself, a short bio, and information such as a title, and a description. Your application will auto-save, so please feel free to contact us if you face any issues while submitting your information.

Your application will be assessed and rated based on 3 main criterias:

- Relevance/Interest for the Research Administration Community
- Organized and Defined
- Opportunity for Delegates' Engagement

CARA’s Executive continues to monitor the situation with COVID-19, following the advice of Public Health authorities and their recommended protocols.  All indications support us planning our in-person West regional conference in early December 2022 and we will keep the community updated should Public Health recommendations result in any additional steps or adjustments to our plan.
