CONNected: Our Community, Nation, and World

November 6, 2020 - November 7, 2020

Virtual Conference

The Connecticut Council for the Social Studies is proud to announce our 2020 annual conference, “CONNected: Community, Nation, and World.”

Within a climate of momentous societal change and physical distance, we are planning a comprehensive conference where social studies educators and leaders from across our state will convene to learn, collaborate, and connect using a digital conference platform. Digital platforms offer flexible accessibility for sponsors, exhibitors, presenters, and attendees to interact and collaborate. So much of what is revered about the CCSS annual conference will serve as the foundation of our program.

Each year we convene feels like yet another critical time for social studies. We know social studies, as an interdisciplinary discipline, provides the context and tools needed for critical thinking and informed action. Yet, social studies is marginalized. Social studies teachers from across Connecticut, however, continue to provide world-class instruction and support for all students. It’s our calling. This year’s fall conference builds upon where we have been and reinforces our ability to create a world in which all students are educated and inspired for lifelong inquiry and informed civic action.

Join us November 6, 2020 as we explore how Social Studies connects our community, nation, and world to our past, present, and future!

While workshops, seminars, and keynote presentations will be held digitally, we are looking for dynamic presentations that invite participation and connectedness; in alignment with this year's theme.
