Call for Proposals

BCNET CONNECT Tech Summit 2024

April 3, 2024 - April 5, 2024

Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre

We are seeking session and workshop proposals for the 2024 CONNECT Summit.

The Call for Proposals is open only to BCNET Members and other Canadian post-secondary institutions as well as partners of the National Research & Education Network.


The proposal portal allows you to submit a draft of your proposal and modify it until the closing of submissions on February 2, 5:00 PM (PST)

We will send periodic reminder emails to all incomplete submissions; only complete proposals will be considered for review by the Program Committee. 

IMPORTANT NOTES FOR SUBMITTING YOUR SESSION PROPOSAL 

  • Session duration is 45-minutes total. Include some time for Q&A when planning your session.  
  • Complete all fields marked with an asterisk (mandatory)
  • A session is allowed a maximum of 5 presenters
  • Limit speaker biographies to a maximum of 650 characters (around 100 words)
  • Limit your session abstract to a maximum of 2,000 characters (around 250 words).
  • The submission confirmation email with a link to the proposal portal will be sent to the submitter only.
  • A unique proposal portal is generated for each session submitted.

PROPOSAL EVALUATION CRITERIA

The BCNET CONNECT Summit Program Committee will evaluate all session proposals based on the following criteria:


  • Quality of the written proposal
  • Relevance of the proposal content to the Summit attendees and track themes
  • Value/Innovation and original problem solving
  • Ability to inspire action and/or outcome for users

February 13, 2024   CONNECT Program Committee reviews proposals
February 15, 2024   Speakers notified of acceptance
February 22, 2024   Deadline for speakers to confirm acceptance
April 2, 2024             Pre-Conference Workshops
April 3-5, 2024          Summit Dates
