2021 MLA-SLA Joint Conference
June 14, 2021 - June 16, 2021
The Manitoba Library Association recognizes that it is on Treaty 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 10 and traditional lands of the Métis people. The Saskatchewan Library Association recognizes that it is on Treaty 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10 territory and traditional lands of the Métis, an important part of our past and a crucial part of our future. Our members, colleagues, and fellow conference attendees work and live on these and other lands that Indigenous people called home before the arrival of settlers, and in many cases do still call home. The MLA-SLA Libraries – Better Together Conference acknowledges and respects the history, land, and the Indigenous people of our respective areas.
Welcome to the Manitoba Library Association-Saskatchewan Library Association Joint Conference! The theme for our 2021 conference is Libraries: Better Together, which reflects the essential role of libraries in building and promoting diversity, inclusivity, and equity and providing space for cultural and public engagement. Libraries are a proactive, future-oriented force in life-long learning, innovation, social connection, and the economic well-being of our two provinces. The conference will offer a range of sessions that will be of interest to libraries of all types and all sizes in all sectors (academic, public, school, and special).
Our virtual conference portal is now open to registered attendees. All registered and paid delegates will receive an email with their login details. If you have questions then please email: slaexdir@sasktel.net. We encourage you to sign in before June 14 to get familiar with the conference platform (Pheedloop) and set up your personal profile. FAQs about Pheedloop are available here.
