ABSTRACT GUIDELINES

The goal of the OPC National Conference is to present the best new scientific research in all areas related to O&P, from new advancements in technology to business development tools. With the integration of the Tech Symposium into the full conference we plan on adding a great technical perspective to the O&P profession.

The OPC National Conference Abstract system is now open for submissions.    

   
Review Deadline:  March 3, 2020
Notice of Acceptance:  March 16, 2020
Final Presentation submitted to OPC:  July 24, 2020


ABSTRACT SYSTEM

Submission is open to members, non-members of OPC as well as allied health professionals. Abstracts can be submitted as podium presentations, workshops, posters or quick tips. Submissions must not exceed 1000 words. Media files and/or other accompanying documents (in any format) can be uploaded in support of the submission. Abstracts will only be accepted in English. Abstracts previously presented at the OPC National Conference will NOT be accepted.

Presentations may be recorded for the purpose of continuing education at OPC’s discretion.

 

ABSTRACT FORMATS

Presentation*

Oral presentations, either 15 or 30 minutes (10 / 25 min. +5 Q&A) discussing techniques, case studies, and qualitative research.

Workshop*

IInteractive workshops teaching skills in a hands-on session ranging from 30-90 minutes. presenters will demonstrate relevant clinical and technical concepts or skills.

Poster

Visual poster showing preliminary test results and research that is still a work in progress. Posters are accompanied by a 90 second introductory presentation.

Quick Tips

New this year, quick tips are short, 5-minute presentation, either technical or clinical in nature, devoted to helpful information to be used in day to day practice.  Presentations will be grouped together with quick transitions and conclude with a combined Q&A session.

*Approved presentations 30 minutes OR longer will receive 15% off their full conference registration. Abstract submissions for the formats listed above should be based on the following fields of practice:

Orthotics, Prosthetics, Rehabilitation/General, Education and Business.  This year we are focusing on New Technologies / Techniques outlining the Best Practices in Orthotics and Prosthetics.

Peer suggested topics / areas of interest are listed below.  Abstract submissions are not limited to the suggestions outlined.
